Benefits of reducing stress
Of course, you can’t get rid of all stress from your life.
Butfinding good ways to deal with stress can mean:
less infections;
symptoms are not as bad; and
symptoms don’t last as long.
Lots of research showsthat when we are under stress our immune systems don’t work so well and we are more likely to get ill.
In one study people were trained in ways to cope with stress.
The study compared people who had the training to people who did not.
Those who tried ways to cope with stress got muchfewer, shorter, milder infections.
They also missed less than a quarter of the number of days of work!
