How we get infections
Germs called viruses cause these infections.
They spread easily when people who are ill cough and sneeze.
Viruses get into our bodies, often through our nose and mouth.
We don’t get ill when only a little bit of a virus gets in.
We only get ill when lots of the virus gets in and takes hold before our bodies can fight back.
We can’t avoid picking up all germs.
But if we act quickly, we can sometimes stop viruses in their tracks.
